FC Dallas vs LA Galaxy: Lineup notes πŸ“

FC Dallas resumes its nine-game road trip tonight with a clash in Southern California against the LA Galaxy.

Lineups are in from both sides. Let’s dive into what Eric Quill’s starting group looks like, who is on the bench, and who we believe will see minutes later on in this one.

What Changed From Last Match

One change we knew was going to happen was in goal, newly acquired keeper Daniel is going to be out for at least two months with a hamstring injury, so Jonathan Sirois will take over as the main starter.

Outside of that, Quill has gone back to what I believe will be one of his stronger lineups. The club has it listed as a 4-4-2, but its probably more of a 5-3-2 than anything else with Bernard Kamungo earning his first start since the spring and Herman Johansson on the opposite wing.

Who should come off the bench?

Given the schedule coming up, rotation off the bench will probably be a thing tonight. I would expect to see Santiago Moreno, Anderson Julio, Sebastien Ibeagha, and JoaquΓn Valiente. The big question outside of those four is if we see newcomer Clay Holstad or Sam Sarver.

Key Question Heading Into Kickoff

Can they get off to a good start in August against another team that they should beat?

I’ve been discussing lately how Dallas has β€˜played down’ to teams that they’re better than this season. Last week’s results in Portland and San Diego drove home that point a bit too much. Tonight, FCD has a chance to regain some momentum and put a team that they’re better than away with some early changes. Dallas has to find ways to possess the ball more than they did a week ago, while also getting the attack going.
