FC Dallas wingback Bernard Kamungo has been called up to Tanzania’s men’s national team for two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Nigeria, on Friday November 13 and Tuesday, November 17.
This is the second straight national team call-up for Kamungo, as Tanzania called him up during the October window.
Kamungo should be back in Dallas in time for the club’s Round One series in the MLS Cup Playoffs, which will start on Friday, November 20 (the dates and times for FC Dallas’ series have not been announced as of this writing).
When and where Tanzania plays Nigeria
The first leg is in Nigeria at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, kicking off at 10am CT on November 13. The return leg is at Amman Stadium in Tanzania, kicking off at 7am CT the following week on November 17.
Kamungo's 2026 season, by the numbers
Kamungo logged 1,703 minutes across 23 appearances this season and set a career high with six assists. The more telling number: FC Dallas has gone 10-2-6 when he started. That's 18 starts with two losses. Whatever you think about his finishing on a given night, the team is clearly better with him on the sheet.
