We’re wrapping up the first week of February today with a preseason friendly between Texas Derby rivals FC Dallas and the Houston Dynamo.

Unfortunately, this one isn’t going to be streamed online to watch (there is a radio stream however), but we can breakdown the two lineups.

Quick Note: This friendly will be broken up in a few different parts. The first 45 will be as you normally would see, but then there will be three 30 minute sessions after that.

Quick thoughts

Real quick, I'm experimenting with some things this season. I'm not a graphic designer by any stretch, but I hope to try and make some graphics like this more often this year instead of relying on the ones put on social media by the club.

Anyways, on to the lineup.

We have a 4-3-3 according to the club today. It is very interesting to see Diego Garcia get a start in a preseason game next to Pedrinho and Sebastian Lletget in the midfield. Again, I've been hearing a lot of great things about Garcia's time with the team in Portugal, so the new Homegrown is getting a chance here today to see more minutes.

The rest of the group is about what I would expect, even in a slightly different 4-3-3 formation. I think at times, it will still resemble a 4-2-3-1, with the three midfielders rotating a bit between the attacking group and the midfield group.

Defensively, this should be the starting backline and goalkeeper we have to begin this year. We should still see some defensive signings before these two clubs meet again later this month, but for now, this is the group.

Who we could see in the other halves

I believe the starting group will mostly go 75 minutes today, with maybe one or two players going 45 or 60 minutes. I'd expect a full line change of subs come the third 30 minute session.
