FC Dallas didn’t need an offensive explosion to close out September on a high note. Instead, one Osaze Urhoghide header and another strong defensive performance were enough to secure a 1-0 win over LAFC and extend FC Dallas’ unbeaten run to six games.
The final numbers reflect just how tight the night was on Saturday. Neither side reached 1.0 xG, possession was fairly even, and the teams combined for a small number of good chances on goal.

This one looks a whole lot different from the attacking numbers we saw a few weeks ago. FC Dallas didn’t overwhelm LAFC, didn’t pile up big chances (really no big chances at all), and certainly didn’t produce some gaudy xG totals. Instead, Dallas found one moment from a set piece and made it count.
Good deals find ways to win, it is simple as that.
Both teams put the same number of shots on target on the night, but only two were in the ‘good’ category. Dallas ended the night with 18 touches inside the LAFC box, but weren’t able to get a lot of good looks on goal. Credit goes to the LAFC defense for limiting the space Dallas had to operate with. Though Dallas was able to get a couple of decent looks on goal late in the game when Sam Sarver and Daniel Job were causing issues for the tired LAFC defense.
