FC Dallas announced today that it has signed midfielder Katlego ‘Tsiki’ Ntsabeleng to a contract extension through the 2026 Major League Soccer (MLS) season with club options for 2027 and 2028.

Ntsabeleng will not occupy an international slot as he obtained a U.S. Green Card in March, 2024

In 2024, Ntsabeleng appeared in 25 games, starting in eleven matches and playing a career high 1082 minutes. The South African midfielder also featured in Leagues Cup and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches for FC Dallas.

Quick BDS Take

In a way, this is another no-brainer type of move from the club. Ntsabeleng was on the Supplemental roster with his original rookie contract and this extension likely moves him up to the senior roster, similar to what we are likely going to see with Logan Farrington.

Given the recent departures in the attack, Ntsabeleng has a chance to really make a name for himself in 2025 under Eric Quill. He hasn't started in more than 11 games in a season but this could finally be the year that he breaks that mark. Especially if the club is searching for a new number 10 for the first few months of the regular season to replace Alan Velasco.
