During the final hours of the 2026 summer transfer window, FC Dallas has made one more signing.
FC Dallas has acquired winger Daniel Job via transfer from Kongsvinger IL of the OBOS-ligaen, the second division of Norway. He has signed a U22 Initiative contract through the 2029-30 Major League Soccer season with a club option for the 2030-31 season. Job will occupy an international roster slot, pending receipt of his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate.
As part of the transaction, FC Dallas acquired Job’s Discovery Priority Rights from Red Bull New York in exchange for $100,000 in 2027 General Allocation Money (GAM).
The reported fee for Job is said to be in the $5 million range, plus incentives. This will make Job one of the most expensive transfers in club history behind the likes of Petar Musa.
“Daniel is a promising young winger who has excelled in Norway and generated a lot of interest from clubs across Europe,” said FC Dallas Chief Soccer Officer Andre Zanotta in the club’s issued press release. “We believe he has a lot of upside and the qualities to continue developing at FC Dallas, and we’re excited to have him here. His speed and ability to attack defenders will give us another dynamic option in the final third and add another element to our attack.”
The Nigerian winger joins Dallas after half a season with Kongsvinger, where he made 20 appearances, scored eight goals and recorded nine assists. He made his club debut on April 7, 2026. Most recently, Job scored in the first round of the Norwegian Football Cup against Skreia IL.
Prior to joining Kongsvinger IL, Job joined Eliteserien side Sarpsborg 08 on loan in July 2024 before making the move permanent the following season. Job made his professional debut with Sarpsborg 08 FF II on April 8, 2024, and made his first-team debut in the Norwegian Football Cup on April 10, 2024. From 2024-25, he made 27 appearances, scored two goals and recorded three assists with the first team, while also scoring 10 goals with Sarpsborg 08 II. Job spent the 2025 season with second-division side Egersunds IK.

BDS Take
Boy, that reported transfer fee is something you have to discuss off the jump here. We’re seeing the club actually spend big money on a player. It is such a wild number for a guy that comes from a second division in Norway. If this was second division in England, France, Germany, or Spain…then we’d probably be a bit more excited.
Let’s also point out that he doesn’t exactly fit a need right now for FC Dallas. He’s not a CAM, a number six, or a center back. Those were three spots I would have been more interested in upgrading through a U22 spot (though in a perfect world, another DP).
Saying that, Job does appear on paper to be a player that the club is looking to replace Deedson and potentially Anderson Julio with here as we move towards the 2027 Sprint Season. I’m not sure if I would go as far as to say he is a potential Santiago Moreno replacement, at least not yet.
Given his stats in the second division in Norway (see below), he’s got plenty of speed and skill on the ball. I could also see him as a potential wingback conversion for Eric Quill, though the defensive side of his game has to improve before that can be a real idea. Everything I’ve been told on this guy is that he can be a liability off the ball.
Job did score seven goals and added eight assists in 20 appearances this past season for Kongsvinger. That kind of production isn’t anything to scoff at, even if it is a second division in Norway.
I’ll kind of say what I said with Deedson last summer, this one feels like it could be a slow burn with the hopes of an expensive transfer down the road. It is the exact kind of move FC Dallas loves to make.
