FC Dallas has announced the signing of Brazilian attacker Pedrinho from North Texas SC.
The new deal sees Pedrinho signed through the 2025 season, with club options for 2026 and 2027. He will occupy an international slot on the roster, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa.
Pedrinho made his debut with North Texas SC in 2024 after signing a one-year deal with the MLS NEXT Pro club. He scored ten goals and added five assists in the regular season, before scoring the club's game-winner in the MLS NEXT Pro Cup last month.
The 21-year old joined the CR Flamengo youth ranks at age 9. Pedrinho signed his first professional contract with the Brazilian club on July 20, 2021. The Rio de Janeiro native spent a season out on loan with Serie D side Azurirz in 2022. With Azuriz, Pedrinho scored once in seven matches.
BDS Take
This was a move we expected following MLS NEXT Pro Cup last month.
He was arguably NTSC’s best player in 2024, but I do think he still has plenty of room to grow, likely with NTSC again in 2025. If you look at his run during NTSC's playoff journey to a MLS NEXT Pro Cup title, he was absent a decent amount. Thankfully, he turned it on when it mattered most.
We know new manager Eric Quill wants to use more younger players in 2025, and a guy like Pedrinho fits the bill pretty well. If he can find a way to get involved in say, 10-14 games for FC Dallas in 2025, with reasonable minutes in those appearances, I think his progression will work out nicely for both the club and the player.
