FC Dallas has announced the loan of defender Herbert Endeley to USL-Championship side Colorado Switchbacks for the 2025 season.

The loan, which we had previously reported earlier this week, will give FC Dallas the ability to recall Endeley at any point.

In 2024, Endeley helped guide North Texas SC to a MLS NEXT Pro title. In the Cup final against the Philadelphia Union II, the 23-year old earned a MLS NEXT Pro Cup MVP award for his performance in that match. He started 19 games for NTSC, where he scored two goals and added four assists.

He made his FC Dallas senior team debut on May 28, 2023, entering as a substitute in the 84th minute against San Jose. Since then, he has made 11 appearances, including three starts, logging 320 total minutes.

Endeley was drafted by FC Dallas in the first round of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft (24th overall pick).

2024 FC Dallas Player Recaps: Herbert Endeley
Did Endeley’s time with North Texas in 2024 help earn him a 2025 option pickup?

Quick BDS Take

This one feels like a win-win on both sides.

FC Dallas is fairly flush at right back in terms of depth right now. 2025 SuperDraft pick Enzo Newman appears to have won the backup role to Shaq Moore this season. Endeley was viewed as a surplus in a way.

Endeley has yet to make the FC Dallas bench in 2025, so he needs a place that is a tougher environment than MLS NEXT Pro to continue to develop. This kind of move should be able to set him up well to earn some playing time and get those additional minutes in a division that is better than MLSNP.

Colorado Springs won the USL-Championship last season, so he won't be going into a club that is struggling, but it will also mean he has to work for those minutes.
