We learned earlier today that FC Dallas has some open roster slots to work with, including some U22 slots.
On Wednesday afternoon, several outlets on Twitter and Bluesky have FC Dallas linked with Gremio midfielder Kaick, including state-side reporter Tom Bogert.
Sources: FC Dallas finalizing deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Kaick from Gremio for $4m. CLMerlo first reported. Kaick, 19, is a graduate of Gremio's academy.

Given Kaick's age and reported fee, this appears to be a U22 signing for the club.
If you are looking for some highlights of this young player, YouTube is the answer:
Quick BDS Take
Boy, Andre Zanotta loves players from Gremio. Maybe it is a bit of a blind spot, or maybe it is a cheat code for him.
Buying a Brazilian player, polishing him up, and then flipping him for a much higher value is probably the play that Zanotta dreams about doing. It is probably the promise he made the Hunts when he was hired. I would be willing to bet that he would have done that by now with Geovane Jesus had the young Brazilian not picked up an ACL injury in late 2023 that has kept him out for two seasons.
But here is the rub with this one, Kaick has yet to appear in a first division match for Gremio. On paper, this one feels like another big swing on the U22 front that is up there with Enes Sali. They're taking a big swing on a young player with the hopes he can find his footing here, make an impact within two years and then sell him.
It's a big gamble. Adding another midfielder to the mix, even a young one is fine. He appears to be a bit of a defensive minded midfielder, so I wouldn't hate seeing if he can develop into a clinical lock down DM in this league, a la Diego Chara. That is a big stretch though to achieve for a 19-year old with little to no division one experience, though.
If FC Dallas is wanting to ensure a playoff spot in 2025, adding a young player that may take a bit of time to develop is maybe not the best use of that U22 slot. We will have to wait and see how this one unfolds.
