For the last year, Major League Soccer has drastically improved its transparency with fans on how club rosters are built and managed. Between the MLS Players Association’s salary breakdown each year (one in spring, and one in the fall), and these roster profiles, we have a better understanding of how FC Dallas is built for this season.

Let's dive into the roster profile for this year and discuss some intriguing discoveries from it.

New Year, New Model

For starters, the club has shifted to the U22 roster model* for the year. That allows them two Designated Players (Lucho Acosta and Petar Musa), along with up to four U22 players (more on them in a moment).

💰
Clubs like FC Dallas, who opted for the U22 Model this winter can switch to the DP Model in the summer. In the meantime, they’ll receive up to $1 million in additional GAM. If they opt not to switch, they’ll receive the rest of the $2 million in GAM.

As we've previously discussed, Geovane Jesus' slot is open due to him being on the season-ending injury list. Enes Sali's slot is also available while he is on loan in Saudi Arabia.
