North Texas SC Signs Forward Gianluca Cangiano

The Argentine comes to North Texas after one season with San Lorenz.

North Texas SC continues to build out their roster as they look to defend their MLS NEXT Pro Cup title in 2026.

On Friday, North Texas SC signed Argentine-Italian forward Gianluca Cangiano to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season, with a club option for 2026.

Cangiano spent the 2024 season with Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro in Argentina, appearing in 15 matches and scoring six goals for the club’s reserve squad. A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he began his career with Club Atlético Independiente’s Academy in 2017 and remained at the club until 2023. 

With Cangiano’s signing, North Texas SC now has seven players under contract for the 2025 season:
 
Goalkeepers (1): Victor Darub
Defenders (2): Isaiah Kaakoush, Kaka Scabin
Midfielders (3): Jaidyn Contreras, Leonardo Orejarena, Caleb Swann
Forward (1): Gianluca Cangiano
