After a sluggish start to the season, April felt like North Texas SC finally woke up and discovered their form. The results weren’t flawless, but the attack came alive, the confidence grew, and most importantly, the wins started stacking up…even if a couple of them came in a penalty shootout.
Across four matches, NTSC picked up three wins (two from shootouts) and showed a much clearer identity going forward, led by the red-hot duo of Edu Nys and Natty James. The goals were flowing, the young pieces are starting to step up and even the penalty shootouts are starting to feel more like a strength instead of a coin flip.
There’s still room for improvement, because this is MLS NEXT Pro after all, but the month of April at least gave the group something to build on. And after how March went, that’s a pretty big step in the right direction.
April Game Recap
Sporting Kansas City II (4-1 Win)
NTSC opened the month with a scoring spree on the road, scoring three goals over a nine-minute span. Natty James scored his first and second goals for the club in the 35th and 45th minutes of the match. Edu Nys scored his fifth goal of the season.
Sporting Kansas City II (2-2, 5-4 PK win)
After dominating SKC II in the previous game on the road, NTSC returned home to Arlington and needed a penalty kick shootout to pick up the win. NTSC got two goals from forward Natty James. They won the extra-point shootout 5-4 courtesy of one save from goalkeeper Eryk Dymora.

Minnesota United 2 (1-0 loss)
In just the second loss to Minnesota United 2, North Texas SC closed out the month with their only loss in April. Defender Leandro Gonçalves and FC Dallas Academy product Chris Salazar made their first start of the season. Defender Zach Molomo made his season debut in the 86th minute of the match. The U.S. Youth international made six appearances for the club last season.
Players to watch
Edu Nys - The Belgian midfielder continues to shine for NTSC. He’s in a three-way tie for the Golden Boot race with six goals. Head coach John Gall has recently made him vice captain, alongside Homegrown defender Slade Starnes. When he’s been on this season, NTSC has been tough to slow down.

Natty James - The Trinidad and Tobago international forward has really started to settle in nicely with NTSC.
Eryk Dymora - After a rocky start, the Duke alum has also settled in well as the primary starting keeper for NTSC this season. Dymora is showing that he has the chops when it comes to penalty kick saves, which can help provide a nice boost for the club in the moment.
