Ahead of its August 4 kickoff, the Leagues Cup Organizing Committee today announced venue details for FC Dallas’ 2026 group stage matches. Venue assignments were made in coordination with participating clubs, stadium partners and tournament operations.
FC Dallas will host Club Querétaro on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT. Dallas will then face Chivas de Guadalajara on Saturday, Aug. 8, at PayPal Park in San Jose, California. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. Quick BDS Take
FC Dallas gets a home game in Mansfield, which I was told a few weeks ago by sources, was to be expected. It was a matter of which game out of the two group games would be played there. It makes sense that it wasn’t the Chivas game, which will draw a bigger crowd.
The Chivas game being played in San Jose is unfortunate, to say the least. But it is the nature of this kind of tournament. I had heard rumblings a few weeks ago that this was a strong possibility for Dallas in the Leagues Cup to be playing Chivas outside of North Texas.
I do need to stress that FC Dallas does not have full control over the venue selection for this sort of tournament (that power is largely with the Organizing Committee), so places like the Cotton Bowl were not going to be an option.
Dallas is already on the road a ton in August, but this adds one more element to the mix:
| Date | Match | Competition | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aug 1 | at LA Galaxy | MLS | Dignity Health Sports Park |
| Aug 5 | vs Club Querétaro | Leagues Cup | Mansfield Stadium |
| Aug 8 | vs Chivas de Guadalajara | Leagues Cup | PayPal Park – San Jose, CA |
| Aug 12 | at Toluca FC | Leagues Cup | Estadio Nemesio Diez |
| Aug 15 | at Austin FC | MLS | Q2 Stadium |
| Aug 19 | at Real Salt Lake | MLS | America First Field |
| Aug 22 | at Vancouver Whitecaps | MLS | BC Place |
If you are curious like me, that is going to be roughly 6,600 miles traveled during that stretch. Rough.
