The Leagues Cup run for FC Dallas ended on Wednesday night in one of the toughest environments in Concacaf, losing 3-1 to Toluca FC.
Both sides traded goals inside the opening ten minutes as Toluca earned a penalty kick that Alexis Vega put away before Petar Musa tied the game up seconds later on a lucky redirect.
Toluca showed their quality with a goal right before halftime on a fast break from Federico Viñas and again five minutes into the second half from Érick Gutiérrez.

This is the kind of result I think many of us expected for FC Dallas in Toluca. The environment in Mexico at Toluca is amazing, but extremely difficult. You could tell before halftime that the club was gassed with the altitude and pace of the game.

Shortly after the hour mark, Quill went to his bench with three subs. He brought in Santiago Moreno, Chris Cappis and Sam Sarver for Ramiro, Herman Johansson and Petar Musa. In the 71st minute, Ran Binyamin came on for Joaquin Valiente. The final sub came in the 81st minute when Nicholas Simmonds came on for Logan Farrington.
