FC Dallas continues their love of players from Oregon State in the MLS SuperDraft. In the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, FC Dallas used the 11th pick in the first round round to select sophomore defender Enzo Newman.
In two seasons at Oregon State, Newman played in 30 games with 21 starts, 0 goals, and 6 assists. He can play on either wing or as a fullback.
This marks the third SuperDraft in the last four years with a first round pick from Oregon State for FC Dallas. 2024 saw the club draft forward Logan Farrington, while in 2022 the club took midfielder Tsiki Ntsabeleng.
Dallas also drafted Indiana forward Samuel Sarver in the second round and defender Mohamed Cisset from Penn State in the third round.
Sarver, a former Columbus Crew academy player, played in 90 games while at Indiana, with 81 starts, 24 goals, and 22 assists. He was named a 3rd Team All-American this year.
Cisset, currently plays for the Mali national team, where he played in the 2024 Summer Olympics. In two seasons at Penn State, Cisset played in 31 games, with 25 starts, and one goal.
Quick BDS Take
It really should be no shock to see FC Dallas selecte a player from Oregon State or Indiana at this point. The club loves to scout those colleges for players and it has come through with recent selections like Farrington (OSU), Ntsabeleng (OSU) and Herbert Endeley (IU).
The Cisset selection is very intriguing as he comes with a decent pedigree already as an Olympic athlete. The Montreal native can play in the defense but also in the midfield.
I imagine that Cisset and Sarver are likely destined for North Texas SC, though as a sophomore, Cisset could return to Happy Valley and remain at college while Dallas keeps his draft rights for a couple of years.
