FC Dallas found late-game magic once again on Saturday night, this time in a wild 3-2 road win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
In what was the first of nine-straight road games for Dallas, they wasted no time getting on the board with Patrickson Delgado scoring the club’s fifth fasted goal, 55 seconds into the match. San Jose answered in the 18th minute from Beau Leroux, but Dallas stayed alive late in the first half when backup keeper Jonathan Sirois saved a Leroux penalty kick.
Petar Musa restored the lead early in the second half with his 12th goal of the season, only for San Jose to level the game once again from a Reid Roberts finish off a corner kick. But just when it looked like Dallas would have to settle for a point, Sam Sarver came through in stoppage time once again, delivering the winner and celebrating in a wild fashion.
Key Moments

Santiago Moreno tried to slot the ball into Petar Musa but it was blocked at the top of the penalty area, where Delgado was there to quickly hammer it home for the game’s first goal.
18’ - Goal San Jose. The hosts responded with a goal of their own as Beau Leroux ties the game up with a right footed shot from just inside the penalty area.
40’ - Penalty! Osaze Urhoghide is whistled for a foul inside the penalty area.
41‘ - SAVE!! Jonathan Sirois makes a big diving save on Leroux’s penalty attempt to keep the game level!

90+3’ - GOOOALL!! Of course it was Sam Sarver to get the lead back for Dallas. Urhoghide headed a ball forward to Kaick around midfield. The Brazilian hit a perfect ball to Sarver, who remained open on goal and onside. Sarver took a couple of dribbles before beating the San Jose keeper!

Instant Reaction
To get the road trip started this way is something else to say the least. The early start was exactly how you want to get these types of trips going, but San Jose showed their quality today in responding after both goals.
But the composure late from Sam Sarver to get the game winner is proving he deserves the minutes he’s earning off the bench here as of late. Dallas is now 3-0-0 when he scores and the celebrations from his goals continue to go up a peg.
About the Subs
Dallas went to the bench midway through the second half, to bring Logan Farrington on for Peter Musa in the 65th minute. Five minutes later, a double sub took place with Chris Cappis and Ran Binyamin coming in for Patrickson Delgado and Santiago Moreno. The final subs came on in the 84th minute, when Sam Sarver and Sebastien Ibeagha came in for Ramiro and Joaquin Valiente.
Man of the Match
Let’s give it to Delgado. The guy finally stepped up and showed us the 2025 version of his game again with the early goal, the most touches inside the San Jose penalty area and most shots on the night.
Where does this fit into the season
The win pushes Dallas into 5th place in the Western Conference, with 22 points. Four teams sit just below Dallas on 21 points, as six points now separate 3rd place from 9th place.
