Home games are where you should pick up the most points in Major League Soccer. That much has been true for a long time, especially as the league hits 30 clubs in 2025.

That is what makes Saturday's 3-1 loss by FC Dallas to Brimstone Cup rivals Chicago Fire even worse. It wasn't just dropped points for a draw but it was dropped points for 10-15 minutes of just terribly flat play by the club in front of its home crowd.

When you play flat, you get punished by even bad teams (and I honestly think Chicago could still be a pretty bad team in 2025). Let's dive back into Saturday's loss to see what key points are worth pulling out for discussion today as we move further into this season.

Quill takes this one on the chin

I've heard a lot of 'coaches speak' in my day. Both as a young player and then as a person reporting on teams through college and now in MLS.

Saturday's post game press conference was certainly different out of Eric Quill. Instead of pasting the quotes in here again, take the few minutes to hear it all from him.

If you made it through the nine or so minutes, good on you.
