FC Dallas is looking for their first win at BMO Stadium tonight as they take on LAFC. Nico Estevez has selected his starting eleven to take on the defending MLS Cup champions. Let’s dive into some quick thoughts on it.

Two really big changes
For the first time this season, Estevez doesn’t change his center back combo. But, we do see a bit of a formation shift this weekend with Facundo Quignon joining Edwin Cerrillo in the center of the park behind Alan Velasco! Yes, Velasco in a playmaker role this weekend is certainly something different.
Oh, and Jader Obrian gets his first start of the season.
Yes, there are some key absences
Estévez moves to 4-2-3-1 to account for some absences tonight:

José Martínez out w/ recent knee injury (Korça on bench), Sebastian Lletget out due to personal reasons, Pomykal limited to bench w/ hamstring soreness.
Yeah, Martinez wasn’t on the injury report as the team went to LA, so that one came up while they were there. Sebastian Lletget being out for personal reasons (just do a simple search for his name, it shouldn’t take you long to see what is going on there).
Who we could see in the second half
In a way, I like the options off the bench for this one. Paxton Pomykal in limited action is probably for the best after he left last weekend’s game against KC with a hamstring issue. No need to put more miles on him right now if he isn’t 100%. He could be a nice option late in this one but I would imagine we’ll get more of Geovane Jesus, Jesus Jimenez and Nsiki Tnsabeleng.

A lot of firepower still in that lineup. Nice to see some old faces in Ryan Hollingshead and Kellyn Acosta.
