FC Dallas announced today that goalkeeper Daniel has signed a contract extension through the 2027-28 MLS season with club options for the 2028-29 and 2029-2030 seasons.
FC Dallas acquired goalkeeper Daniel this summer from the San Jose Earthquakes after three seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes, where he made 77 regular-season appearances from 2023-26. In 2026, the Brazilian goalkeeper started 18 matches and matched a career high five shutouts.
Prior to joining MLS, Daniel made 83 appearances for Sport Club Internacional from 2017-22, recording 37 clean sheets while conceding 74 goals. He began his career in the youth academy of União Rondonópolis.

When you look at the contract situation for all three keepers, you had to wonder which one the club was going to pull the trigger on for the long haul. Daniel, Jonathan Sirois and Michael Collodi all had their current contracts ending after the 2026 season, with option years for 2027 (Sirois) or 2028 (Daniel and Collodi).
This signals the club is moving forward with Daniel as their primary number one in goal. The bigger question will be how they will carry Sirois and Collodi in the coming years.
