FC Dallas defender Herman Johansson has made Sweden’s 2026 FIFA World Cup roster, earning a call-up as an injury replacement for Emil Holm.

Johansson had been in the player pool for some pre-World Cup friendlies. He appeared in 14 games for FC Dallas in 2026, after joining the club at the start of the season. He has logged two assists and is currently second in key passes. Dallas acquired him after he helped Mjällby AIF win the 2025 Allsvenskan title.

Sweden drew a tough group at the World Cup, facing Tunisia, fellow European side Netherlands, and Japan, which will be the final group stage match coming to Dallas Stadium in Arlington.

Sweden qualified via the UEFA playoffs, booking their 13th all-time World Cup appearance after missing the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
