FC Dallas wrapped up the first portion of the 2026 season on Saturday night with their second straight road win, downing the Colorado Rapids 2-1, securing the first victory in the Mile High City since 2014.
Dallas did all of its scoring in the first half, both from the penalty spot. Logan Farrington was fouled 10 minutes into the match and converted for his sixth goal of the year. Later in the half Santiago Moreno scored his second goal of the season after Ran Binyamin was fouled in the penalty box.
Colorado got a quick response after Farrington’s goal, as Paxten Aaronson scored a minute later. But the Rapids weren’t able to tie the game up after Moreno’s penalty thanks in large part to Dallas keeper Jonathan Sirois, who had four saves on the night, including two in the final five minutes.
Key Moments
10’ - Ramiro played the ball into Logan Farrington at the top of the penalty box. Farrington made a play on the ball to get inside the box and was tripped up by Paxton Aaronson. The center official quickly pointed to the spot!
12’ - GOAL!!! Farrington gets Dallas on the board with his sixth of the season.
13’ - Goal Rapids. A quick ball behind the Dallas defense opened up the Rapids in the attack as Georgi Minoungou got into the penalty box and played a ball across the defense where Aaronson was there to quickly score and tie the game up.
41’ - Big chance for the Rapids. A bad touch by Shaq Moore outside the penalty area leads to a shot by Rafael Navarro. Thankfully, the attempt was well high of the goal.
44’ - Another penalty for FC Dallas! Santiago Moreno plays Ran Binyamin into the penalty box. Binyamin cuts the ball back and gets tripped up by Minoungou.
45’ - GOAL! This time Moreno steps up and scores his second Dallas goal!
89’ - SAVE! Jonathan Sirois makes a big stop on a Aaronson attempt from distance.
90+5’ - SAVE! Sirois again with a diving save on Rafael Navarro.

What more can you say here? Was it a pretty win? Absolutely not. But, it was a gritty one that we’ve seen this team get time and time again this season. For not having Petar Musa in this one (thanks to his World Cup call up with Croatia) and Osaze Urhoghide (injury), Dallas did just enough with Logan Farrington on the night in the attack.
Defensively, Dallas did a solid job of keeping guys like Rafael Navarro from getting good looks on goal all night. You could easily make an argument for Sebastien Ibeagha as the man of the match with how he was clearing out chances all night.
About the Subs
Eric Quill finally went to his bench in the 65th minute to make three subs. He brought on Chris Cappis, Nolan Norris and Sam Sarver for Santiago Moreno, Herman Johansson and Patrickson Delgado. The final two subs came in the 83rd minute when Caleb Swann and Nicholas Simmonds came on for Ramiro and Logan Farrington.
Man of the Match
I’m going to have to go with Sirois here. The Canadian keeper kept the game in Dallas’ control thanks to the defensive work in front of him, but he made a couple of key stops late to preserve the result.
Where does this fit into the season
The win wraps up a truly remarkable month of play for the club after a rough April. Dallas got 12 points out of 15, with the last two wins coming on the road.
Dallas now heads into the World Cup break with a two-game winning streak, which is a great way to begin a nine-game road trip to say the least. For now (there are still games on Sunday), Dallas is sitting in 4th place on 25 points.
What’s next for FC Dallas
FC Dallas returns to the field in late July after the FIFA World Cup break, when they head to Oregon for a midweek match on July 22 against the Portland Timbers.
