Wingback Bernard Kamungo has been called up to Tanzania’s men’s national team for AFCON qualifying matches against Guinea-Bisau on Friday, September 25, and against Madagascar on Tuesday, September 29, with both matches kicking off at 8 a.m. CT.

Tanzania will conclude the FIFA International window with a friendly against Ghana on October 6.

Kamungo received his first Tanzania call-up on June 12, 2023.

This will force Kamungo out of FC Dallas’ upcoming home game against LAFC on September 26.

Kamungo has played 1,230 minutes in 16 appearances for FC Dallas this season. The Tanzanian set a new season high in assists with four. The 24-year-old signed a contract extension on Jan. 7, 2025 through the 2027 season with club options for 2028 and 2029. FC Dallas holds a 8-1-4 record when Kamungo starts.

The Kasulu, Tanzania native, has made 90 appearances, registering eight goals and eight assists in 4,636 minutes played since joining FC Dallas in 2022.
