The last month or so have been a bit wilder than I would have ever expected covering FC Dallas.

Sure, I've seen some weird moves made by this club over the years. Not protecting Dax McCarty after the 2010 MLS Cup in the expansion draft comes to mind. Or some failed transfers for players like George John or Brek Shea. To the club's weird pursuit of players like Franco Jara or even more recently with Ruan.

This team has always found a way to do things...differently. I think that is putting it nicely, too.

Still, as FC Dallas trades away their first and only Homegrown Designated Player, Jesus Ferreira, to the Seattle Sounders. I can't help but think of how we got here. From an insane run in 2022 that saw him score a ton of goals and make the World Cup. To injuries in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Failed transfers along the way, or ones that didn't fully materialize into an offer the club was willing to accept.

It has been a wild ride. Let's discuss a bit as to how we got here.
