A blowout loss like the one San Diego FC handed FC Dallas should feel like a match not worth examining. Five goals given up, four against the run of play on counter attacks feels like more of the signs I've been pointing out for weeks that a good attacking team could exploit.
As much as I would like to over think this loss in my weekly breakdown, the schedule this week thankfully forces us to move on from it rather quickly instead of dwelling in it.
Was there much to learn from this loss? Yes and no. Yes in the sense that this game showed us once again how a formation and a lack of change in said formation will ultimately be the killer of this team. And in the other way, no, its more of what we've been seeing in pieces for the last few weeks.
Let's dive in, shall we?
