This winter covering FC Dallas has been hectic to say the least. We’ve seen a lot of players come and go, with big names exiting the roster. While I’ve spent a lot of time this winter discussing who has left FC Dallas, I really haven’t spent a lot of time on some of the newcomers on the roster.
I’m hoping to change that a bit this week as the club is preparing for their next preseason match on Friday against Houston. I won’t get too much into the Homegrown or SuperDraft picks, but there are a pair of players I want to start out with today that didn’t get a lot of time under the microscope when they were added to the roster.
Let’s dive into both Leo Chu and Anderson Julio a bit more than when we did when FC Dallas traded for them.
Leo Chu
The Brazilian winger comes to FC Dallas via the big blockbuster trade with the Seattle Sounders for Jesus Ferreira.
In a way, Chu kind of got lost in that trade.
A lot of us spent time on what it meant to trade away a Homegrown player like Ferreira and the money that came with it, but Chu is an interesting addition for FC Dallas this winter. I think any other winter, we’d probably be pretty excited about the idea of a young, 24-year old winger.
