North Texas SC has signed 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner Henri Marinho dos Santos on loan from Palmeiras throughout the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
North Texas SC can exercise a permanent transfer on Santos’ contract following the conclusion of his 2023 loan.
The 21-year old joins North Texas SC after three seasons with Palmeiras. Since signing for the Brazilian club, he has made 20 appearances and registered 1,522 minutes over three years. During that time, he also scored three goals. He also won the Brasileirão U-20, Copa do Brasil U-20 during the 2022 campaign and the Copa São Paulo de Futebol in 2023 for Palmeiras.
Santos was part of the Brazil U-17 MYNT that hosted and won the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He started in all seven matches, leading to the final, playing all 630 minutes. He contributed with one assist and was the national team captain.
