FC Dallas finally kicks off its home slate of games for the 2025 regular season on Saturday as they host Brimstone Cup rivals Chicago Fire.

This is the first meeting between the two clubs since the 2022 season and the first meeting in Frisco since 2018.

Both clubs enter this weekend's match fresh off wild draws in Matchday 2. Chicago had a wild battle with D.C. United last week that ended 2-2, while FC Dallas came from behind to draw the Colorado Rapids 3-3.

🔥
About the Brimstone Cup
The Cup was created during the 2001 season by the supporters' groups of both clubs, Section 8 from Chicago and the Inferno from Dallas.

FC Dallas Notes:

Key player for FC Dallas: Petar Musa - The Croatian has been hot to begin 2025. With a goal and an assist against the Fire, Musa would become the second player in MLS history to open a season with three consecutive games with a goal and an assist, joining the Fire’s Ante Razov in 1999.

Last time against Chicago: The two sides last met in April 2022, as the Fire returned to Solider Field. The match was a tight 0-0 affair.

All-time against Chicago: FC Dallas currently leads the all-time series with the Fire with a 22-17-5 record.

Last win vs Chicago: FC Dallas hasn't beaten the Fire since the 2018 season, when they won 3-1. But at home, they currently have a 14-game unbeaten streak against the Fire.

Super fast: Bernard Kamungo leads FC Dallas in speed recorded on the pitch this season at 34.19 km (~21 miles per hour). He’s 12th fastest in MLS.

Homegrown clock: For the first time in a number of years, FC Dallas has yet to use a Homegrown player this season.

Potential Lineup:

Eric Quill has settled into a pretty familiar first team lineup so far this season, with the right wing being the lone spot that he's rotated. Given how the first group played last week in Colorado, he could opt to use that group again at home.

Paes; Farfan, Urhoghide, Ibeagha, Moore; Benetti, Lletget, Julio; Acosta, Pedrinho, Musa
