FC Dallas vs Austin FC: Lineup notes 📝

FC Dallas is back in MLS play this weekend as they battle Copa Tejas rivals Austin FC.

Lineups are in from both sides. Let’s dive into what Eric Quill’s starting group looks like, who is on the bench, and who we believe will see minutes later on in this one.

What Changed From Last Match

With three games coming up this week, some rotation was necessary.

Lalas Abubakar returns to the lineup for the second time this season to fill in for the suspended Nolan Norris. Chris Cappis, Sebastien Ibeagha and Santiago Moreno return to the lineup.

Who should come off the bench?

Let’s get one thing out of the way, Kaick is here tonight after being on the injury report yesterday. He was originally going to be out due to the birth of his child, but he is on the bench and I would assume he will be one of the main options to rotate into the match in the second half.

After him, I would assume we’ll see Shaq Moore, Logan Farrington and possibly Clay Holstad. My other hope is we see Josh Torquato make his season debut after a very good run with the US U-20s recently.

Key Question Heading Into Kickoff

Can the form from the Leagues Cup translate back into MLS play?

Both teams are coming off a solid run in the Leagues Cup, with Austin finding a way to get into the Knockout Round. Dallas had some solid moments against Chivas, Toluca and Queretaro, but they have to figure out a way to put those results together into something positive in league play. The defense needs to be stout and the attack needs to wake up.
