Last season, I kept a fairly-decent running log of some key stats for FC Dallas. Those stat reports dove into the goals scored, the key defensive stats and trends we were seeing throughout the season.
As we've entered a new season, I want to take a slightly different approach to the stat report each week (or however frequently I can manage to write this). While, I will continue to do some key stats throughout the season, I want to focus on some other areas of the stats from the previous match.
Today, we'll dive into the 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo with a focus on a couple of key areas for FC Dallas.
Did the defense improve?
We have spent a lot of time in recent weeks talking about how the FC Dallas defense was revamped over the offseason and preseason under new manager Eric Quill.
New faces like Shaq Moore and Osaze Urhoghide were brought in, as well as defensive midfielder Ramiro Benetti. All three made their club debut on Saturday long with key returning players like Marco Farfan, Sebastien Ibeagha and Maarten Paes.
