The offseason for FC Dallas has been anything but uneventful this year. From potentially trading away big names like Jesus Ferreira and Paul Arriola, to signing some new players like Lalas Abubakar and Ramiro, the team has been very active in rebuilding the roster for new manager Eric Quill.
Late Friday evening, another potential trade has emerged to discuss. Tom Bogert and César Luis Merlo have reported that FC Dallas is getting set to trade Sam Junqua and some allocation money to Real Salt Lake for Anderson Julio.
Julio is primarily a striker who can also play along the wings. At Salt Lake, he has made 111 regular season appearances, with 38 starts over a four-year span. He scored 25 goals and added six assists.
According to the MLS Players Association, he earned $750k in 2024. He is currently signed with RSL through 2025 with an option for 2026 as one of the club's TAM players. He also currently occupies an international roster slot.
BDS Take
At the end of the day, on paper, I do like this move a lot for FC Dallas. Julio is the type of player that draws in fouls and puts his team in good spots to score.
And Dallas fans should recall this strike he had against us in 2024:
