Copa Tejas will not end up in Austin or Dallas this season, as a 1-1 draw on Saturday night between FC Dallas and Austin will see the Houston Dynamo claim their first Copa Tejas trophy.

Dallas got on top in the 36th minute thanks to Moore. Lalas Abubakar won the ball outside of the Austin penalty area, as the ball landed near Petar Musa, he played Moore into space where he was able to give Dallas the first half advantage.
Five minutes into the second half, Austin tied it up on a long cross from Mikkel Dessler to the back post where Owen Wolff headed home a goal past Michael Collodi.

Instant Reaction: As good as the first half was for FC Dallas, the second half was a lot of chasing and poor passing. Quill at least made subs to help some of that out, but no one really made an impact. The loss of Musa was one thing, but Dallas really struggled to get any sort of possession that could help create chances. Also, it is hard to pick up wins off two shots on target in a night.
Random Stat for the night: In three seasons with Nashville SC, Shaq Moore had one goal. He’s on three goals this season with FC Dallas.
About the Subs: After halftime, Eric Quill went to his bench for the first time to bring on Anderson Julio for Petar Musa, who picked up a bit of hamstring tightness toward the end of the first half. In the 63rd minute, Patrickson Delgado came on for Sebastian Lletget. In the 73rd minute, Quill made a double sub by taking off Chris Cappis and Logan Farrington to bringing on Kaick and Deedson. In this third minute of stoppage time, Nolan Norris came on for Ramiro.
Man of the Match: Moore got the goal but Osaze Urhoghide played possibly his best match of the season.
Where does this fit into the season: Well, Houston will end up winning Copa Tejas for the first time following this draw. For FC Dallas, they’ll stay in 11th place on 29 points. That puts Dallas two points behind 10th place Real Salt Lake and three behind 9th place San Jose.
What’s next for FC Dallas: FC Dallas returns home to host LAFC next Saturday.
