BDS Notes:

I know what you are thinking by seeing the photo at the top of this post. Paxton Pomykal is indeed training with the club and is getting closer to returning to full health. That is a huge sign of progress for him after the last year or so that he’s had with injuries.

He's listed as questionable, which is a massive upgrade. I don't expect him to be 100% ready for this week’s game in Miami, but don’t be shocked if we’re seeing whispers of him getting some playing time once the team is back at home in a couple of weeks.

Aside from that good news, the rest of the injury report still looks a bit rough. We added a ton of names to it last week, with Enzo Newman, the Dallas rookie picking up an ACL injury that will likely sideline him for the rest of the year. There is no official word on whether the club will place him on the season-ending injury list.

Elsewhere, we’re still waiting to see progress on Petar Musa, Marco Farfan, Sebastian Lletget and Leo Chu. I asked the club earlier this week for updates on each but didn't not receive any details back on whether or not when any of those four will be back in May.

On the Miami front, there are reports that Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Oscar Ustari could sit out Sunday’s match as they rest up for the return leg of Miami’s Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal round against Vancouver. Honestly, I can’t blame them for sitting this one out if that is the case.
