FC Dallas had a chance to cap off their three-game homestand with a statement win over a conference rival. Instead, they delivered one of their flattest performances of the season to date. A slow start, sloppy play in possession, and a lack of bite in key moments led to a 1-0 loss to Minnesota United.

Given that we have a busy week with another came coming up on Saturday, let’s dive straight into some of the key aspects of this loss.

The dogs had no bite

You can’t sleepwalk through a half of soccer and expect to win. FC Dallas did exactly that against Minnesota last night.

If you’re Minnesota, this is the exact kind of game you want to play on the road. Especially on the road in the midweek.

Let’s be perfectly blunt about it, the one chance given up that the Loons scored was truly it on the night. Sure, Michael Collodi made a couple of saves to keep things level before that, but Minnesota wasn’t exactly knocking on the door in a way that gave you any indication that they were going to be dangerous on the night.

And yet, they walked away with three points.
