Revisiting our 2025 bold FC Dallas predictions

It is always good to review what you predicted each year.

Now that the season is done and dusted, it felt like the right time to revisit some material from earlier in the year. Back in January, shortly after FC Dallas had hired new manager Eric Quill, I busted out my bold predictions for the 2025 season.

Yeah, a lot of it was written well before some major moves took place for the club. At the time, I felt optimistic about things for this club. As you'll see below, I was probably a bit too optimistic in some areas.

You can review my 'bold' predictions from earlier this year here:

Bold predictions for FC Dallas in 2025
The new year means time for new predictions.

Prediction: FC Dallas won’t get a new DP (or U22 signing) until the summer

Result: Well...

Okay, when I wrote this in January the idea that FC Dallas would land Lucho Acosta wasn't really a full fledged dream. Also, when I wrote this, FC Dallas still had Alan Velasco (more on him in a moment), Jesus Ferreira, Paul Arriola and Nkosi Tafari on the roster.

Yet, all signs were indicating that the club was at least going to move on from Ferreira and Arriola before the season. It also seemed like that club was doing whatever they could to keep Velasco.

This prediction really felt more like what the club would do in terms of deciding on their roster profile (DP vs U22) at the time more than anything else for me. At the end of the day, I don't think I can give myself any credit here. Too many things happened to keep this one from being accurate.

Prediction: Petar Musa will score 15 goals in 2025 (mini prediction that Musa will have 5-6 assists this year)

Result: Giving myself points here…got that mini prediction correct.

I thought Musa would take a bit of a dip in the scoring department, which thankfully I was incorrect about. He lead the team with 18 goals and he also added in some assists like I predicted.

That right there is a win in my book.
