As the calendar flipped over to a new year and a new month, it is time to get into forecasting how things could go this year for FC Dallas.
I already know that a lot of what is below in this post will likely be voided the second some trades go down that we’re waiting on. Also, potential transfers for the club could also have a major impact on things, but those feel like bigger ’ifs’ at the moment than anything else.
Just like I did a few weeks back, once the dust has settled on the 2025 season for FC Dallas, I’ll review these predictions.
Alright, enough intro talk, here are my bold predictions (that are sure to go very wrong) for FC Dallas in 2025:
FC Dallas won’t get a new DP (or U22 signing) until the summer
In a way, this one hinges on if the club opts to go with the U-22 roster construction route once they trade Jesus Ferreira to Seattle, or if they want to maintain the 3/3 model that will see them go out and get another Designated Player this year.
Either way, I have a feeling they won’t truly replace Ferreira’s DP (or even a U22 that could be like a DP if they did it the right way) until the summer transfer window.
My gut tells me they’ll go to the U22 roster construction route and only have the two DPs, Petar Musa and Alan Velasco. And mini prediction time, neither of those two will be sold in 2025 unless some massive offers come in (which I don’t think they will).
Petar Musa will score 15 goals in 2025
While it would be ‘bold’ to say that Musa would lead the league in goals in 2025, I think he’ll be a bit away from that mark. There are too many good strikers in this league that he will be competing with for that honor. Still, he’ll lead the team with a solid 15 this year, which isn’t bad.
Second mini prediction for Musa, he’ll earn five or six assists in 2025.
