FC Dallas and Atlanta United played for five minutes in their final preseason tuneup on Saturday night before heavy rain and thunderstorms caused the game to be delayed.
Following an hour long delay, the two clubs (along with the officials) opted to cancel the match altogether due to the heavy rain in the area.

The pitch at Toyota Stadium also had some serious drainage issues due to the heavy rain. The photo snapped above was taken shortly before the game was called off.

Notes
No time to delay it further
For those wondering about why the game was cancelled and not delayed for another couple of hours, it turns out that Atlanta United had what you could consider a ‘hard out’ today due to their flight back to Georgia.
There were also other preseason games in the area, as USL-Championship sides FC Tulsa and San Antonio FC, were using a Toyota Soccer Center field for a preseason game. They opted to cancel it as well about 30 minutes before FCD-Atlanta canceled their match.
