FC Dallas remains unbeaten in preseason play following a 3-0 win over the New York Red Bulls.

FC Dallas got first half goals from Logan Farrington and Anderson Julio. In the second half, Farrington scored his second of the date from the penalty spot after Sam Sarver earned the penalty kick.

New York picked up a red card in the second half when Kaick and Jorge Ruvalcaba collided. The former Pumas striker‘s boot caught Kaick in the face with part of his boot.

The Red Bulls picked up a penalty of their own in the 88th minute when Osaze Urhoghide brought down a Red Bulls attacker in the penalty box. Emil Forsberg stepped up to the spot, but his attempt didn’t get past Michael Collodi, who tipped it into the post.

Notes:

About those missing today

Petar Musa: The media was told that Musa was out for a personal reason today. There is no injury with him.

Paxton Pomykal: This is the one a lot of you have been asking about. I’ve been told the club is being very cautious with him right now. He hasn’t re-injured his knee during this preseason camp, but he hasn’t progressed enough yet to be in full training, let alone a preseason game.

Herman Johansson: This one is more due to visa issues. He should be arriving this weekend and is expected to be in training and apart of the club’s two preseason friendlies next week.

Solid form so far

Bernard Kamungo: There were a couple of moments of typical Bernie touches in this one, but his set up on the first goal to Farrington was good to see. He also had the game’s first good chance on goal that hit off the post.

Logan Farrington: The goal in the first half was a solid finish by Farrington. Sure, New York’s keeper poorly handled the shot, but it is one you take if you are Farrington.

Osaze Urhoghide: I think I counted at least three or four times he bailed out a teammate when New York was pressing in the first half.

Pretty ‘meh’ so far

Ramiro: The veteran had more ‘yikes’ moments in the first half than good moments.

Deedson: The experiment to have the Haitian on the right wing back spot is certainly a work in progress. Going up against Jorge Ruvalcaba was a good way to show how far he has to go in this role. Ruvalcaba torched him a couple of times early along the wing.

Early first looks

Ran Binyamin: Looked decent on the ball at times in the final 45 minutes. He had a few long-ball switches that were a nice change of pace. But I do worry a bit about the fitness and pace from him.

Caleb Swann: He had a couple nervy touches early on that veteran Emil Forsberg picked off. He settled down a bit in the final 45 minutes.

Ricky Louis & Nicholas Simmonds: I’m lumping these guys together since they came on as a duo late in the game. I forgot how tall both players are, which could be a good thing to have down the road when the team needs options off the bench late in a match for set pieces. Both have speed and decent first touches.
