The reigning MLS NEXT Pro champions, North Texas SC, will face The Town FC after being selected via the Pick-Your-Opponent playoff format. The Western Conference Quarterfinal will take place Sunday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. CT at PayPal Park. The match will stream live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

North Texas clinched a playoff berth on Decision Day 2025, defeating LAFC2 4-2 at Rawlinson Stadium. The club finished sixth in the Western Conference with an 11-11-6 record. This marks the second consecutive year North Texas has qualified for the MLS NEXT Pro playoffs. NTSC holds a 6-2-0 postseason record since starting play in 2019. The upcoming matchup will be the club’s first postseason road match since Sept. 25, 2022, and the first playoff appearance under head coach John Gall.

The two sides met once in the regular season, with North Texas earning a 2-0 win. North Texas SC holds a 2-3-2 record against The Town FC and a 1-0-1 record at PayPal Park.

This will be the first postseason meeting between both clubs.

The Town FC finished second in the Western Conference with a 14-8-6 record and, by virtue of their standing, selected North Texas as their opponent under the Pick-Your-Opponent format. The team is led by head coach Dan DeGeer, who has been with Town FC since 2022.
