Say what you will about starting some reserve players in the US Open Cup's early rounds. For MLS teams like FC Dallas, they are valuable chances for some of the backend of the roster to earn time on the field before the calendar gets really congested in the early summer months.

Tonight, FC Dallas will host USL League One side AV Alta FC in the Round of 32. The USL1 side has had a remarkable run so far in the USOC and shouldn't be taken lightly, but FC Dallas manager Eric Quill would still be wise to give some younger players a chance to show him what they can bring to the field.

Here are a few players that I'm hoping to see earn more minutes tonight against AV Alta FC.

Tarik Scott

The Homegrown forward was once an early candidate this season for a loan outside of Frisco, but after a few solid games with North Texas SC where he scored three goals, including one on his birthday. Scott has been given the chance to earn some first team minutes in recent weeks in Miami and San Diego. Wednesday night would be a great chance to start him and see what he can do early on against a defense that is likely more on par to what he's seen in MLS NEXT Pro.
