FC Dallas’ first road trip of the season ended in disappointment on Saturday night.
A second half strike from David Martinez proved to be the difference-maker, as LAFC handed FC Dallas its first loss of the 2026 season, 1-0 at BMO Stadium. Martinez’s effort from outside the penalty area was one of the few moments that broke through in an otherwise tight goalkeeper battle.
Homegrown keeper Michael Collodi did his part to keep Dallas within reach, finishing the night with four saves, while LAFC’s Hugo Lloris matched him on the other end with five stops.
Key Moments
28’ - Big Chance: Off a corner kick from Chris Cappis, LAFC cleared the ball out to the top of the penalty area where Bernard Kamungo collected the ball and ripped a shot that forced Hugo Lloris to make a diving save.
44’ - Save! Michael Collodi comes up big, as LAFC gets a chance off a Dallas turnover. Son gets inside the penalty area with space but his shot was right at Collodi.
55’ - GOAL. David Martinez put LAFC on top with a long-range rip of a shot. Stephen Eustaquio found Marintez around 25 yards out from goal, and he got an open look on goal.
70’ - Big Save! Collodi again comes up big! LAFC had another quick transition with Bouanga and Martinez playing a give and go to allow Bouanga space inside the penalty area. Bouanga tried to flick the ball over Collodi, but the Dallas Homegrown came the rescue.
90+7’ - Musa! Big chance for the Croatian late as he got a ball inside the penalty area that forced Lloris to make one more save to preserve the shutout for the home side.

Instant Reaction
There are some buildings in this league that are tougher than others. LAFC continues to be that for Dallas, as they’ve gone eight games now without a win at BMO Stadium. For once against LAFC in their building, Dallas was more on the attack and had some decent looks. In the end, it was a single moment of brillance that sealed the three points for the hosts.
About the Subs
Eric Quill finally went to his bench in the 73 minute with two subs. He took off Logan Farrington and Joaquin Valiente, to being on Kaick and rookie Ricky Louis. A few minutes later, Patrickson Delgado came on for Ramiro. The final subs came in the dying minutes of the match when Deedson and Ran Binyamin came on for Osaze Urhoghide and Chris Cappis.
Man of the Match
Collodi stood on his head in this game, making several big stops. The one goal given up was one that was going to be tough to stop, no matter who was in goal.
Where does this fit into the season
The first loss of the season is always the toughest. This was a game where Dallas was in it, but just gave up a really impressive goal. With the other results today/tonight, Dallas still sits in the playoff race with four points.
What’s next for FC Dallas
FC Dallas returns home to begin another two-game home stretch next weekend, as they host San Diego FC.
