After a weekend off, FC Dallas is back in action as they are on the road tonight to take on D.C. United.

Lineups are in from both sides. Let’s dive into what Eric Quill’s starting group looks like, who is on the bench, and who we believe will see minutes later on in this one.

What Changed From Last Match

Following the international break, Quill has made a couple of changes from the win two weeks ago over Houston.

We see Petar Musa come back into the lineup following his international duty with Croatia. Alongside him, Patrickson Delgado also makes a start over Chris Cappis in the midfield.

Further down the field, Sebastien Ibeagha returns to the lineup as Herman Johansson is out (we’re going to need to find out about his status after his international duty with Sweden last week). Shaq Moore now moves to the wing with the Swede out.

Bench

  • Jonathan Sirois GK
  • Lalas Abubakar DF
  • Joaquin Valiente MF
  • Ran Binyamin MF
  • Deedson MF
  • Chris Cappis MF
  • Sam Sarver FW
  • Santiago Moreno FW
  • Nicholas Simmonds FW

Who should come off the bench?

The big question here is whether or not we’ll get more than 20 minutes out of Santiago Moreno, or closer to 30 minutes? I think given what he has played (or rather hasn’t played) in recent weeks in Brazil, 20 minutes is a good barometer for the young Colombian.

Outside of Moreno, I think we’ll continue to see more of Joaquin Valiente, Chris Cappis, and maybe a defensive sub for Lalas Abubakar’s first minutes of 2026. I wouldn’t hate seeing rookie Nicholas Simmonds earn his debut either, though I think Deedson is more likely to earn those late minutes.

Key Question Heading Into Kickoff

Can FC Dallas find their road form?

We saw some good moments in the club’s only road trip of the season, last month in California against LAFC. But once again, the defensive side of things let the club down on one moment from David Martinez and LAFC. If Dallas can be on the front foot again (like we saw against LAFC, and actually finish some chances early...), this could be the game that sets the tone for them away from home this season.

But, they have to finish those chances when they come. This United defense is stingy this season.
