It is time for another FC Dallas player recap from the 2025 season, with a look at veteran defender Shaq Moore.
Stat breakdown
Moore came back to Dallas after spending a few seasons with Nashville SC. He instantly became one of the more consistent players for Eric Quill.

Highlight
It was a career-year for Moore in terms of goals scored with three. His one against Austin was my favorite.
What to expect in 2026?
The one thing I think we should expect from Moore in 2026, is his leadership along the backline. If anything stood out to me in 2025, it was that element. If someone messed up, had a bad pass, or didn’t progress the ball forward, it was Moore who was usually the one barking orders and talking it out with teammates. I want to see that progress more in 2026.
Final thoughts
The move to the center back spot was certainly a good one for Moore in the last months of 2025, but I have a feeling the club sees his time better served along the wings in 2026 once Geovane Jesus is healthy again. It is a bold move honestly, as I think the older Moore gets, the better he is going to be as a center back and not a full back.
At the end of the day, the competition at this positions is what you want to see. Moore brings that out in guys and the defense should get better from it.
