The summer transfer window is always a unique time across the globe.

Most major markets, like in Europe, are busy getting ready for their upcoming seasons. In North America, especially in Major League Soccer, teams are either doubling down on their season and are adding key pieces or they are getting things ready for a bigger push in the winter window for the following season.

For FC Dallas, there could be signs that the team is starting to prepare its roster for the 2026 season. A rumor out of Mexico today suggests that there are now talks between Tigres UANL of Liga MX and FC Dallas over left back Marco Farfan.

It is early days in the report but something to keep an eye on as the transfer window gets set to open up in MLS next week.

Get 50% through the 2025 season

Quick BDS Take

In all honesty, Farfan has been one of those guys that I would hate to lose for a while now. Even with a down year like 2025 is shaping up to be, he is still one of the more consistent players on the field for FC Dallas.

His contract with FC Dallas is through this season, with one option year in 2026. FC Dallas could look at this as an opportunity to get another young player sold to Liga MX (they've already done it once this summer with Tigres) and open up more salary cap space to play with (Farfan earns around $550k).

What do you think? Should FC Dallas start shedding the roster a bit with moves like this one?
