When FC Dallas sold Leo Chu last week to FC Alverca, the question then became how quickly would the club replace his roster spot. It turns out, they were already deep into discussions on finding a replacement.

Reports on Wednesday morning from Tom Bogert state that the club is close to signing Haitian international winger Louicius Don Deedson from Odense BK.

🇭🇹 Sources: FC Dallas finalizing deal to sign Haiti int'l winger Louicius Don Deedson from Odense BK. Fee around $1 million. Deedson, 24, had 7g/9a in ~2,000 mins last year. www.givemesport.com/fc-dallas-to...

Deedson has 22 caps with Haiti, scoring eight goals. He had seven goals and nine assists in just over 2,000 minutes in the Danish second tier this year. He previously played for fellow Danish club Hobro IK.

Should this deal go through, he’ll be eligible to join the club after the summer transfer window opens for MLS clubs on July 24.

Quick BDS Take

A report from Bogert is about as good as it gets for a rumor on this side of the world. Seeing that FC Dallas was quick to go out and figure out a replacement for Chu is a positive sign, especially if you factor in the current injury situation with the other acquired winger for this season (Anderson Julio).

Also, just because the club is paying a $1 million to land him, doesn’t mean he’ll occupy a Designated Player or TAM slot on day one. I would imagine on the salary cap side of things for him to be similar to Show (roughly $450k or so) or even what Chu earned against the cap (a U22 only carried a $200k hit).

He showed some nice touches recently in the 2025 Gold Cup. Some may recall his goal against the US national team in Arlington. Maybe he can keep that good momentum going if he lands in Frisco.
