I think the real question will be what position will Bernard develop into? Will he stay on the wing and develop his crossing ability? This means he could be competing with Jesus, Arriloa, Velasco... or can Bernard take a striker/center forward roll? We saw in Jesus’s absence that he has the speed and an eye for goal. We don’t have a lot of proven depth if Jesus gets sold, injured, or called up. This could also allow Jesus float out wide to create and Bernard to make runs behind.
I guess what another question is, how do we fit all our best players on the field that leads to the most effective game plan? It just seems natural to try and fit Bernard in the starting eleven in my opinion because he’s looks like the next big player we can develop.
