FC Dallas continues to pick up 1-1 draws here late in the 2025 season, this time coming from behind to tie St. Louis CITY SC.
Petar Musa scored his 14th of the season in the draw, giving FC Dallas their 19th point of the season from a losing position.
For the second time in three years, FC Dallas saw an early red card to a goalkeeper against St. Louis at Energizer Park. Two seasons ago it was Maarten Paes earning the straight red and on Saturday night it was Michael Collodi's turn. Sixteen minutes into the match, a bad pass to Lalas Abubakar got away from the defender as Joao Klauss was free on goal. Collodi came off his line and tackled Klauss outside of the penalty area.
With the advantage, St. Louis took the lead in the 32nd minute off a goal from Celio Pompeu. St. Louis took a short corner as Eduard Löwen played Pompeu outside the penalty area where the St. Louis winger fired a shot into the far post past backup keeper Jacob Jackson.
Two minutes later FC Dallas tied the game off Musa's 14th goal of the season. St. Louis turned the ball over in their defensive end where Chris Cappis picked up the ball and immediately played Musa inside the penalty area. Musa took a touch before firing it into the top part of the net.
St. Louis pushed for a go-ahead goal in the second half, as they poured the pressure and the attempts on goal. The hosts had 29 of their 43 shots in the second half, including a couple on the doorstep for Klauss late in the match.

Instant Reaction: I mean, really, what is it about playing in St. Louis that causes a red card to a goalkeeper for this team? Outside of that, you do have to commend the effort for clawing back in this one when they went down a goal in the first half. Defensively, this is starting to be what we were hoping to see out of this group in 2025. But, it does come at a cost to the attacking group, which only mustered five shots all night. Take the point, move on from this one.
Random Stat for the night: Jacob Jackson ended the night with 12 saves, easily a career-high. Possibly the most saves by a keeper in a single game this season (still waiting to see if that ends up being the case).
About the Subs: Following the red card to Collodi, Jacob Jackson made his FC Dallas debut as he came in for Kaick. In the second half, Eric Quill went to his bench again by bringing on Sebastien Ibeagha and Sebastian Lletget for Anderson Julio and Patrickson Delgado. With five minutes to go, Logan Farrington came on for Musa.
Man of the Match: Musa may have gotten the goal, but Jackson kept this game close.
Where does this fit into the season: Another draw. When FC Dallas is deperate for wins, they add another draw to the tally to push them to 31 points on the year. They won't move up the standings with the result either, as they're still in 12th place.
What’s next for FC Dallas: We get back-to-back home games, starting next weekend when FC Dallas takes on Austin FC.
