It has been over a year since FC Dallas won back-to-back games at home. Tonight, they look to inch closer to a playoff spot in 2025 when they host NYCFC.

The lineups are in for each side, so let’s dive in to them along with some questions.

The XI + Quick Thoughts

The 3-4-3 or 5-3-2 continues on for another week. It picked up four points last week, so why not?

The big one here is seeing Osaze Urhoghide back in the lineup for the first time since the FC Cincinnati game back in May. He’ll be in the three-man center defensive group with Lalas Abubakar and Sebastien Ibeagha. Those guys will be flanked by Josh Torquato, making his third start on the left, with Shaq Moore on the right. Maarten Paes is once again in goal.

The midfield group sees the Brazilian duo of Kaick and Ramiro with Patrickson Delgado above them.

Up top, we get more of the Logan Farrington and Petar Musa duo.

Who is on the bench?

For staters, we see Lucho Acosta back in the game day roster tonight. We also see newly signed players Sam Sarver and Chris Cappis on the roster.

The rest of the bench sees Michael Collodi, Marco Farfan, Sebastian Ibeagha, Tsiki Ntsabeleng, Alvaro Augusto, and Bernard Kamungo.

Who should come off the bench?

I’d love to see Cappis make his debut tonight, that would be something else after only practicing a couple of times this week with the club. We really need to see Acosta earn some minutes, too. Especially if we want to see him in this new vibes look that Eric Quill is trotting out. Outside of that, I’d say we’ll get Lletget, Farfan, and maybe Kamungo.

Big question for tonight: Will good vibes continue this week?

Last week was a lot more fun for FC Dallas fans. The retro kit came out, had a lot of good press surrounding it, and then FC Dallas came away with one of their most complete wins of the season.

To get back into the playoff discussion more, the club has to figure out ways to win at home again. With City missing one of their best defenders for this one (Thiago Martins), and Peter Musa being hot as of late, it is the perfect time to continue those good vibes into August.
