FC Dallas Notes:
Key player for FC Dallas: Lucho Acosta - He’s suspended for Saturday’s league match in Seattle, so Acosta has to find a way to step up and guide this team on the road.
All-time at New York: FC Dallas doesn’t hold a great regular season record against the Red Bulls, going 17-27-7. At Sports Illustrated Stadium (aka Red Bulls Arena), it is even worse, with the last positive result coming in 2011, in a 1-1 draw. They've gone winless in that venue in all-time meetings going 0-5-2.
All-time vs New York in USOC: The two clubs have not met in the USOC since the 1997 Cup when the then Dallas Burn downed the MetroStars in extra time of a semifinal meeting. The Burn would go on to win their first trophy in the finals.
How FCD got here in the USOC: Like the rest of the MLS teams participating in the US Open Cup this year, FC Dallas entered in the Round of 32. They took on USL League One side AV Alta FC for the first time and came out on top with a 3-1 win.
