On a night that doesn’t feel at all like July in Texas (rain and 75, who saw that coming?), FC Dallas is playing host to Minnesota United for the annual July 4th match.

The lineups are in for each side, so let’s dive in to them along with some questions.

Quick thoughts

As Eric Quill searches for his second home win of the season tonight, he’s getting some of his regulars back.

The big ones are getting Kaick and Sebastien Ibeagha back from suspensions. Elsewhere, Logan Farrington is making a start tonight up top next to Petar Musa. Farrington doesn’t have the same speed as Bernard Kamungo or Anderson Julio, both who are still out for this one.

I will say, seeing the backline of Shaq Moore, Ibeagha, Lalas Abubakar and Marco Farfan (in front of Maarten Paes) is a bit refreshing. Nothing against Alvaro Augusto, but the kid needs more time.

The bigger story here may be whether or not Patrickson Delgado, Sebastian Lletget and Lucho Acosta can guide the team in the middle of the park against a Loons squad that does very well at playing directly through teams.

Who is on the bench?

Once again, we’re getting some short term loans from North Texas SC. Josh Torquato and Sam Sarver, who just scored his 10th goal of the season this week for NTSC, are on the bench again for this one.

Along with them are Tsiki Ntsabeleng, Alvaro Augusto, Michael Collodi, Pedrinho, Ramiro, Diego Garcia and Anthony Ramirez.

🗒️
Note: I believe FC Dallas can only bring up Torquato one more time on a short-term loan from NTSC. Any more than that and they’ll actually have to sign him to a first-team contract.

Who should come off the bench?

Could we see someone like Sarver in this one? Only if we see a lead late in the match, I think. I’d still be up for seeing a guy like that get minutes.

Outside of that, I think Ntsabeleng, Pedrinho, Ramiro and maybe Augusto are set for this one.

Big question for tonight: Can they put it together for 90+ minutes?

This has been the key question for a while. Quill has brought it up after nearly every game this season that his club isn't playing a full 90-plus to their best ability. Minnesota is a dangerous team with the direct style of play that they utilize. If Dallas switches off for a moment in this one, the Loons will make them pay.
