The summer swoon for FC Dallas continues into July following a 2-0 loss on Saturday night at LAFC.
The loss was FC Dallas' sixth straight at LAFC, extending their winless streak at BMO Stadium. LAFC also held FC Dallas to a single shot on target, while goalkeeper Maarten Paes posted seven saves.
LAFC got two first half goals, first from Nathan Ordaz in the 31st minute. Mark Delgado won the ball in the attacking half and quickly found Denis Bouanga on the left wing. Bouanga played a through ball to Ordaz, who mad a turn turn and shot into the corner of the net past Paes.
The hosts doubled their lead before halftime on Bouanga's penalty kick goal. Shaq Moore was whistled for the foul inside the penalty area as he ran into Bouanga. Bouanga stepped up to take the resulting penalty and fired his shot into the net past the dive of Paes.

Instant Reaction: The first 25 minutes or so felt like this one could end up a gagy draw or at least a 1-0 loss for FC Dallas, but mistakes in the back continue to haunt this club. Not to mention, Paes' inability to stop penalty kicks is also hurting as much as the club giving up penalties these days. One shot on target from ten total shots just isn't going to do it against teams like LAFC either.
Random Stat for the night: With the loss, FC Dallas has allowed 19 goals on the road this season.
About the Subs: Eric Quill went for a triple sub in the 60th minute as he brought Tarik Scott, Lucho Acosta and Bernard Kamungo in for Logan Farrington, Pedrinho and Sebastian Lletget. Later on in the 76th minute, Kaick came on for Ramiro.
Man of the Match: Paes with his season-high seven saves.
Where does this fit into the season: Another loss on the season keeps FC Dallas further away from the playoff line. Dallas is now six points back of Austin in 9th place.
What’s next for FC Dallas: FC Dallas remains on the West Coast for a midweek showdown next Wednesday against the San Jose Earthquakes.
